Floating stones at Rama Kund in Rameswaram temple, Tamilnadu

The stone weighs about 10-12 Kilos is floating in Rama kund in the temple tank. This is demonstrated by HH.Bhakti Vikasa Swami Maharaj. It's not a big wonder that a simple stone is made to float by the Supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra. The Lord makes planets containing oceans and mountains float in space what to speak of water.

Is it God or is there a scientific rationale?

Look up "pumice floating" on your google images or videos. It's the way it traps air inside of it as it's formed, making it less dense than water.

Thank you for all the comments. I wanted to give space for all people.

Ultimately, everything is created and maintained by God. There is an immediate cause and an ultimate cause for every action. God is an ultimate cause, material logic is the immediate cause. If we are intelligent, we should seek to find the ultimate cause beyond the immediate cause. Perhaps what Mr Shiva is saying is true but how did the stone become the way it is? Of course...scientists argue "nature" as the cause but "nature" also has a source and the Bhagavad Gita says Krishna is that source. Whether the stone is floating due to entrapped air bubbles or shear God's mercy, either way it reveals the greatness of God.

God cannot be perceived through our mundane senses and He is beyond material logic. Only those who are ready to give up faith on the strength of their own sense perception and seek the truth through internal deliberation and aural reception from realized souls, to those people, gradually Krishna will reveal the truth.

It is a process one should be willing to practice with "informed faith". Our faith should not be tainted with ritualistic attitude or sentimental attitude or blind dogma in science & religion.

I have bought a stone of this type and have kept it in my home.

I do not get it. The floating stone bridge to Ravana's kingdom is said to defy the laws of material nature. What is the connection between that and a naturally floating stone? Anyway, everyone knows pumice stones are not really stones, it is a sponge.

I understand Ananda's point. Scientists try to reify physical phenomena with descriptions such such as gravity or electromagnetic forces. But these descriptions do not really explain the phenomena. There is no logical reason for one physical body to be attracted to another.
But I do not see the connection between Lord Rama bridge, which defied the general laws of physical nature and a "stone" that floats naturally. Pumice is not a stone it is a sponge. We can all float sponges, but only Lord Rama can float stones. That is the point made in the scripture. The point in this demonstration is ambiguous.

i agree with u sita rama das. ya all spongy will float that science . and my question is "may ramar use that spongy to build his bridge"?
