Everyone has abandoned me, seeing me penniless
Wife, relatives, friends, brothers, everyone.
This is misery, but it gives me a laugh. I sit alone and laugh.
In this maya-samsara, whom do I really love?
Where have my loving father and mother gone now?
And where are all my elders, who were my own folk?
Who will give me news of them, tell me who?
All that is left of this family life is a list of names.

The 3 monkeys
Three monkeys sat on a coconut tree,
Discussing things as they're said to be.
Said one to the other,"Now listen you two, There's a certain rumor That can't be true ... That man descended from our noble race.
The very idea is a sure disgrace." "No monkey ever deserted his wife, Starved her babies and ruined her life.
And you've never known another monk, To leave her babies with others to bunk,Or pass them on from one to another."
"And another thing you will never see ... Is a monk build a fence around a coconut tree;
And let the coconuts go to waste, Forbidding all the other monks to taste."
"Why, if I put a fence around this tree, Starvation would force you to steal from me."
"And here's something else a monk won't do ...Go out at night and get in a stew; Or use a gun or club or knife,To take some other monkey's life."
"Yes, man descended ... ornery cuss,But, brother, ... he didn't descend from us!

Who is Very Dear to Krishna?
One…
- who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living entities
- who does not think himself a proprietor and is free from false ego
- who is equal in both happiness and distress
- who is tolerant
- always satisfied
- self-controlled, and engaged in devotional service with determination, his mind and intelligence fixed on Me
- He for whom no one is put into difficulty
- who is not disturbed by anyone
- who is equipoised in happiness and distress, fear and anxiety
- who is not dependent on the ordinary course of activities
- who is pure
- expert
- without cares
- free from all pains
- not striving for some result
- who neither rejoices nor grieves
- who neither laments nor desires
- who renounces both auspicious and inauspicious things
- who is equal to friends and enemies
- who is equipoised in honor and dishonor
- heat and cold
- fame and infamy
- who is always free from contaminating association
- always silent and satisfied with anything
- who doesn't care for any residence
- who is fixed in knowledge
- who is engaged in devotional service
- who follow this imperishable path of devotional service and
- who completely engage themselves with faith, making Me the supreme goal

saksad-dharitvena samasta-sastrair
Prabhupada: So that requires little intelligence, that anyone who is preaching the holy name of God, he is also God. Anyone who preaches the glories of God, he is also God.
Guest (5): Are you God?
Prabhupada: I am servant of God.
Guest (5): But you're preaching the holy name of God?
Prabhupada: Yes, that is my business.
Guest (5): But then, by your own words, you are God.
Prabhupada: But that does not mean I am God, but I am equal to God. Or at least you should see like that. That is explained. A guru... That is explained.
saksad-dharitvena samasta-sastrair
uktas tatha bhavyata eva sadbhih
kintu prabhor yah priya eva tasya
vande guroh sri-caranaravindam **
Guru's position is like this. What is that? Saksad-dhari. He is God. Saksad-dhari. How he is Hari, God? No, samasta-sastraih: "In all revealed scriptures it is explained that 'Guru, the servant of God, the son of God, the preacher, he is God.' " Saksad-dharitvena samasta-sastrair uktah: ** "It is said." Tatha bhavyata eva sadbhih: "Those who are intelligent, they accept like that." Then next line says, kintu. Why he is God? Kintu prabhor yah priya eva tasya: "He is God because He is very, very dear to God." So as I said, in the absolute word, God and a person very dear to God, he is also God. But he does not think that he is God. He knows that he is servant of God. It requires little intelligence, spiritual intelligence, the Absolute, how the servant of God and God is the same. [break] Yes.

The Secret of Success
He (Prabhupada) explained that the real problem is that people are not following Krishna’s instructions properly. If one practically surrenders to Krishna, He makes everything successful.
“Practical”, he (Prabhupada) said, “means it will be done by Krishna. Your only business is to surrender to Krishna. You cannot do anything. And as soon as you think, ‘I shall be able to do it,’ then you are a rascal. Immediately you are rascal.”
“So only a fully surrendered soul can do everything perfectly?” Harikesa asked.
Prabhupada answered, “He cannot do anything. Everything is to be done by Krishna. But he has to apply his intelligence by Krishna consciousness. Even if he is intelligent, he cannot do anything.”
Harikesa added, “Except surrender.”
“Yes. He can surrender, and Krishna will do everything. You have to act very sincerely under the direction of Krishna, and then the war will be successful, as Arjuna did.”
