Imitation meat and my 2 cents

People who believe in God, especially who follow the Judeo-Christian tradition, are convinced that God created animals for humans to eat them. People who do not believe in a God do not care about such ethics...they are happy to eat anything that is dubbed as "proteinicious" and "tasty" by the scientific community. Combination of these two population constitute approximately 80% to 90% of the world population. The end result, the poor animals slaughtered and mis-treated in all possible ways. Unfortunately, not much sympathy is shown to these animals.

The scientific community foreseeing the costly nature of growing "real" animals and slaughtering them are working on "imitation" meat in laboratories. Billions of dollars are necessary to conduct research to make imitation meat a reality. We will not change our lifestyle by controlling our urge to eat flesh but rather spend billions in tax-dollars to artificially create meat in labs.

If we simply can control our urge to eat flesh and blood, we can save billions of dollars and siphon that dollars to help feed the poor and improve the standards of living across nations. While this is a theoretical reality, it will not happen as "man" needs his "flesh" and "blood". Unfortunately, majority of the population seem to think like this.

Anyways...enough of my ranting...this post was intended to copy an article of "imitation" meat that scientists are trying to develop. Apparently, there is not much funding for such a cause in the US. Read the interesting article where it broaches on the science of imitation meat.
