There is no loss

I was reading this quote by Gandhi “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win”. There is victory only if there is failure before.

I was thinking how this quote fits a devotee of Krishna. The best part of being a devotee of Krishna is we never lose. There is no loss in Krishna Conscious per se. As Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita Ch 2 text 40

nehābhikrama-nāśo 'sti
pratyavāyo na vidyate
sv-alpam apy asya dharmasya
trāyate mahato bhayāt

In this endeavor there is no loss or diminution, and a little advancement on this path can protect one from the most dangerous type of fear.

This is most encouraging. If we go out for book distribution and do not sell even one book, still there is no loss because Krishna sees our sincerity and not how many books we sold. Similarly, anything related to Krishna Consciousness is always beneficial to the soul and takes us one step closer to Krishna.

This is our hope that no matter where we are and in what situation we are put in, by just taking shelter of Krishna, we will be protected for sure and there is absolutely no loss in this endeavor. Even if we go by material logic, Krishna Consciousness looks very attractive simply because of this point. I cannot think of any material endeavor where there is no loss. As Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said param vijayate shri-krishna-sankirtanam – Krishna sankirtanam is the topmost glory and victory!
